Question is, can you use rangefinder lenses on mirror less?
That is the golden question. The qualified answer is yes, with the possible exception of many (most? all?) wide-angles. Rangefinder normal and wide-angle lenses usually feature symmetrical design which puts the rear element much closer to the sensor than native mount or SLR lenses. The result is light striking much of the sensor at an oblique angle beyond what the sensor was designed to handle. The images were usually sub-par despite the lens' performance on 35mm film.

The short answer is to temper expectations when shooting vintage rangefinder glass on mirrorless.

nightmare.

I would understand this price, if the camera were in perfect condition. But here we have the lens not from the original kit, but from FED cameras

Scrub that, its an industar 61, the rather nice black and silver version. I have got it, attached to a zorki 4 for £18. Even if it is pants it won't be a great loss but I have managed to get something good from every lens I own so I am sure it will be fine

It is an Industar 61 L/D.

Maybe or maybe not, at least as far as naming goes. All I-61 in M42 mount are labeled L/D L/Z. Most (all?) of the black with silver trim accent I-61 (so-called "black") in LTM are labeled "И-61Л/Д". Black and silver banded ("zebra") and silver with black accents ("panda") in LTM are simply labeled "И-61". All I-61 in both mounts have lanthanum-doped glass regardless of labeling.

Soooo...all are potentially very decent performers. @Swift1 has made some very credible images with his LTM "zebra" on his Zorki 4.

Steve
Steve is right. For the most part all Industar-61 lenses are optically the same, a Tessar type formula with one Lanthanum element, although there are slight variations in focal length (52mm, 53mm, and 55mm). The silver and black versions are just labeled (in cryllic) I-61, while the all black versions are labeled (also in cryllic) I-61 L/D
Mine is actually an all black 53mm L/D from the late 60s (I think), and I haven't tried it on my Zorki 4. I have used it on the FED 3 it came on, my Bessa R, and recently I've used it on my Canon 7. It's a great lens.
Here's a Flickr album of images that I've made with it,

Oops! I flunked the details! For some reason, I thought you were shooting it on the Zorki and that it was the earlier "zebra".

I usually shoot the Zorki with either the Jupiter-8 that came with it, or my Jupiter-12.
My sister has a zebra I-61 with her FED 2 (I've used it and unfortunately it's a dud, and my mom has a zebra I-61 on her Zorki 6, which I have also used and it's a good lens.

"Nightmare" lol it was £18 not £80. I should be able to get most of it back on fleabay, failing that its one for the charity shop/thrift store. Whatever happens, I have learned something thanks for all the info

Looks like it might be a working kit. It is the last export version of the Zorki-4 (early 1970s vintage) and should be a fun shooter except for no strap lugs. The I-61 might show some wobble in the focus mechanism. That is not fatal and is fixable...in theory.

I would check the shutter for consistent operation (remember to wind on before changing speeds) and the curtains for holes and put a roll of film through it. If the lens is clean and functional and the body too, you made an very good deal.

My current favorite lens is my old silver 1954 Jupiter-12 35/2.8. I originally bought it to use on my 1957 Zorki 4, but lately it has been mounted to my Canon 7. My copy of the Jupiter-12 just barely fits my Canon 7, but it does fit, and the two make an excellent combo.

A little nearer than 80cm by the focus ring markings, though the "passport" that came with the lens indicates nominal minimum focus distance of 80cm. A very short extension tube might be helpful.

In Memoriam

Below is another from a session earlier this month with my Jupiter-9. Sadly, the aperture blades on that lens seized a few nights ago, probably due to aging of oil applied during manufacture. One of the blades is quite buckled and another somewhat less so. I attempted disassembly intending to release tension in the hope that the bend will not be permanent, but was not able to release the front optical block to expose the retaining ring. I suspect that thread locker or similar was applied during assembly.

So, in tribute, here is one of the last photos taken with this, one of my favorite lenses.
