Since you started in Russian...

Здравствуйте, ребята,
Это мой объектив Гелиос-40 (первая версия), и мне очень нравится.

I've never seen a Helios-40 lens with a red "П" (P) letter on it. It reminds me of the red "T" letter on some of the Zeiss lenses signifying the better coating than the regular Zeiss lenses.

Above you can also see the three color filters that comes with the lens in a leather case.

Since the filter thread of the Helios-40 is 66mm there is now way I can find a hood for this lens. So I came up with the idea to remove the glass from the three color filters and stack the metal rings together forming a not too bad looking hood. Now look at the thickness of this glass.

Since the focusing was very stiff I decided to clean it and lube it with a white lithium grease. When I soaked the helicoid in petrol and brushed it, there was a large amount of dirt at the bottom, for me it was really astonishing how could this lens turn at all with this amount of dirt. After I cleaned the lens, the focusing became as smooth as a Takumar This lens is built like a tank and it weights like a tank. In fact it reminds me of a AK-47, it is very robust mechanically.

Now you need to made into your "blend" a matte paint or a velvet - to prevent reflection of light

The best way - made the cylinder from a black velvet paper, and past it into "blend"

Interesting, if "просветленная" means transparent and "T" stands for Transparent, then it must mean the same thing.

My Industar-50 arrived It's pretty soft wide open, but I think it works well for portraits. Paid $5 + shipping.
