Industar 50-2, taken last Spring when the local lake flooding was finally subsiding. Not the sharpest or most precise lens, but truckloads of character.

Pics from my lenses

These pics are from my eBay auction taken with the Spiratone 135mm f/2.8 . I was able to trace this design back to Karl Ziess Jena, after them it was sold to Schneider-Kruzenach (forgive my spelling) then Fred Spira got them to license a company to make it with a different zebra striped focusing barrell and sell it under his Company's name sometime after 1952. I think mine was made in 1957 from the serial number of 27815E but I would like to know more if anyone knows more. The pics:

I have quite a few Russian lenses so will probably visit this corner of PF quite a lot :-)
Current favourites: Helios 44-2 (of course) Jupiter 8 ...and Industar 69 (which is hilarious)

I can warmly recommend the Jupiter 9. However many people seem to be having issues with them either due to bad quality checking at the factory or people cleaning them and not managing to put them together correctly.
I got lucky with the one I bought, an early m39 (note, do not get the red 'P' / 'П' versions, they won't focus correctly), just had to relube and re-shim it.

My advice would be to look for one that doesn't look like it's in immaculate condition, but looks used yet well looked after (good glass).

I'm still looking around for a 13 blade Helios 44.. I'm assuming all those on ebay with a black filter ring have had their filter ring exchanged with a more recent version or were some just sold like that?
Any why do they all have to have badly scratched rear elements?!

thank you - unfortunately, B&H put the Samyang 8mm FE on sale and I purchased a copy of it...

I'll be watching for a Jupiter 9, just not as intently....

Hey, welcome! Is the Industar 69 any good? I have never tried it, I have only the 50mm f3.5.

Hi :-) I consider it to be an "art" lens. It is only ever sharp in the centre but it is great fun and full of old-world character. If you are good with a screwdriver you can even open it up to make the close focus distance smaller.
This lens is very small and the aperture ring a little difficult to operate but I like it and it has a very flat profile, when I have it mounted to my Fuji X-M1 (with the adapter) the whole camera and lens will fit in my jeans pocket. The Industar 69 is also very cheap.
Here is a pic I made with it:
