Originally posted by Sandy Hancock The fourth shot above shows a Zenit Mir 20/3.5 on the right. I have just taken delivery of one myself, as well a re-acquisition of a Helios 44-2, the first (mint!) copy of which I stupidly
gave away before the K-1 was released.
So once I get hold of an OEM K-mount adaptor (currently out of stock @ B&H), I'm back in the club
Sandy, could I ask a small favour, please?
When you get around to shooting with your Mir-20, might you check to see if you get any issues with de-saturation and/or a blue-ish tint in the corners (especially the corner opposite to the strongest prevailing light source)?
See my thread
HERE from a couple of years ago, to see the effect I'm describing. It has limited my enjoyment of the lens, in all honesty, though I really like it when I can control the "problem". I'm not the only one that has noticed this, so I'm interested to know if you experience the same issue.
Since posting that thread, I acquired a full set of the rear-mounted "rounded glass" filters to match the lens, but even with the UV filter fitted, I still see the effect. I've even noticed it on several online photos taken with Zenit film cameras from the same era as the lens, so I'm confident it's not just me being daft
It's also worth bearing in mind that my tests have been with the Sony A7 MkII and Hasselblad HV (Sony A99), and not with a Pentax K-1 or K-1II...
Thanks in advance
