The Industar 50-2 makes such a good little 'walk around and shoot sh*t' type lens. Has a nice old-timey feel to it which suits black and white photography, in my opinion.

I'm glad you posted this. I bought one years ago ($21, why not?), used it once, and forgot about it. I need to give it another chance, because, as you show, it can take some nice pictures.

I stuck to the Helios 40 at the park this morning, which is six times heavier than that lovely little Industar.

I took the Industar 61 on a bike ride this morning. I'll leave it on my camera at least until I can catch something more interesting.

I gave the И-61 2,8/52 a better try this morning. My copy is a rangefinder (LTM) version. Optics are the same, but the aperture is a circle, not a star like the M42 version. My copy is from 1985.

Handling is excellent. Colors are OK. Flare resistance is non-existent. Sharpness is very good, but the rendering is a little jagged at medium focus distance.

Exeter Cathedral Statue - Helios-44M

Detail of one the many statues on Exeter Cathedral's west façade, Devon UK.

Centre crop, K-50 with Helios-44M, looks monochrome but is in fact colour!

This lens, attached to a Praktica MTL3 in very nice condition, cost me £14.95 including postage in 2016, that's about $21, bargain!.
