There is some kind of pleasing organic quality to them that becomes addictive. Here are some shots with 55/1.8, taken with Samsung nx300m. Processing is done in Camera Raw, some slight enhancing of raw files.
Very true! Welcome to the Club - however your photos are not showing up for me...?

Can you help you with embedding? I've used "insert image" and copied links from Flickr - any other way or help with this?

Thanx!

That would work fine, just make sure you are getting a link that ends in .jpg, which is the image link rather than the page link.

Flickr also has forum bbcode that you can copy for sharing purposes; this might be even easier.

Yes, this is the easiest way, just copy and paste the bbcode

3doorsofsun: how did you upload your pictures, I am not seeing them. Just black boxes with white X's.

I am also uploading some large files to another server, so fault may be on my box.

Hmm...I'm seeing them fine on my system (Firefox/LinuxMint). Nice shots, 3doors!

I see them on my both PC's (Win10Pro/Chrome and Solus Gnome/Chrome). I think Adam edited the original post.

Welcome to the club! Very nice photos. Beware of eBay. Taks are addicting.
Possibly the reason you couldn't upload the images the first time is that the RAW file size is too big. I use IrfanView to resize my RAW files to 1920x1080. There are other size options, too. It's free, so if you don't know it you might want to check it out.

I can see them now. My hypothesis the problem was on my side is probably correct. They do look nice.

When I started I saw the prices and decided which ones I could afford to collect. Then over about 3 to 5 years I found them, eBay and PF market place, and with the exception of adding 85/1.9, 35/2, 200/2.3 and 135/2.5 I stopped when I had collected the originally defined list. And not bought any other lens since. It has to do with how you think of stuff and how you control financial priorities. Also, I took my time, so I was able to get ones that were quite good and not especially expensive. You do not need to buy the first sample you see of certain ones. With very few exceptions, it is a market, someone will offer another later.

Thanx for the nice comments guys! I really enjoy my Takumars, not as sharp as Zeiss (which is almost like clinical sharp), but there's certain soul in them which qualifies them as characterful, the quality I'm going for.

I grabbed them for pretty decent price - around 20-30Euros and they are in really good condition.

I'm having a bit of hard time adjusting 28/3.5 version to infinity or hyperfocal - seems like it's not that sharp at lower aperture values, more like it goes into good sharpness at around f8 or f11. Is this normal? Any tips you could guys give?

Cheers,
Aleksandar
