Figmental, that is one classic shot, very well done.

far less well done is mine attached here - I've come to think that how a lens renders stone is a great test of quality; the 43 ltd excels at it, as does the Tak 35/3.5 and the 55...

Mike, I hope that fuel guage wasn't your truck. That would be one monster to have to push to the gas station. lol

From the non-SMC version of this lens, which I've always suspected

That was with the ignition switched off and no juice to the circuit. But many years ago I actually did run out of diesel.....twice. Both times with the needle indicating 1/4 tank remaining. After that, I developed a strong mistrust of truck fuel gauges.

Apparently spring arrived here. I didn't notice it coming with the big snowstorm we had at the beginning of the week (finally). But today it was mid 60s (f) and I saw some of these.

jsherman: love the shots! great moments
mr cash: i'm always surprised at how good you are at sneaking up in people while driving what i assume to be a rather large truck. then again i catch myself picking my nose in traffic all the time

some pictures from my snowday last week, on my spotmatic. Any ideas what happened to my shutter in the cold? I cant figure out why I get underexposure on the leading and trailing ends of the shutter. I assume it to be the cold and the grease/gears in the shutter action control. maybe I should take it apart and give it a good cleaning.

All shot on fuji supra x-tra 400 on my SPII. Ironically went out to test my 35/3.5 but most of the keepers (ones least affected by shutter problems too) came from the second half of my second roll.

Baltimore city hall: 135/2.5 at f/4

Holocaust memorial: 135/2.5 at f/4

Pratt: 135/2.5 at f/4 (can really see the shutter problems)

Washington Monument: 135/2.5 at f/8.
Sorry for being too lazy to straighten. I don't have a cdrom on my computer so these went straight from cd to flickr.

I live in a society where people really don't look at each other all that much. That helps turn my truck into the photographic equivalent of a moving duck blind.

I can believe it. I also catch people picking their noses in traffic all the time. You'd be surprised at some of the things I've caught people doing in traffic.

@ southy - I do like the effect, whatever's causing it...
@ mel - yeah I found them as well...

I was Testing Lenses, the SMC Takumar 105/2.8 vs. Soligor T4 mount 105/2.8 vs. for good measure SMC Tak 50/1.4 + 2x converter... Results are interesting but I'm not sure interesting enough to post... to my surprise the SOLIGOR is the clear winner, and the Tak50 still has a nice warm glow even having spent summer in the sun.

That has to be the most clever application of the old "Buy your wife something you can use" ruse I've ever seen. I'd take my hat off to you if I hadn't already removed it when I came home.
