This works for me as well.

From my first outing with the Super Tak 28/3.5 (earlier version) in Jan. 2016. Mine suffers from softness at the right edge, but still works ok for verticals like this. One day I hope to get it repaired or replaced - it's a wonderful lens

SMC Takumar 20mm f4.5

Hola! I just got back from a week in Cusco. The US has a consulate there and I needed to renew my passport. It's certainly a better option than Lima and a place I certainly wanted to visit. Unfortunately, I could only take a camera and two lenses and most of my pictures were taken with the AF 28-70mm kit lens for the Sony a7. The 20mm didn't get as much use as I'd hoped it would. At any rate, here's a photo of a memorable meal. Cui is the national dish of Peru, and every region has a different recipe for it. It seemed to me fitting that I should try it in Peru's ancient capital. I don't recommend it. There's very little meat on the thing, and the flavor is nothing special. It's also quite expensive. You would know cui as guinea pig.The picture shows half of one. (They gave me the head.)
Anyone that's interested can check out my other photos from the trip at my Flickr account (William Bolton).

Sorry bit off topic - just wanted to mention, you got some really cool shots there. Cheers!

SMC Takumar 50/1.4 - after these few days I wonder why did I ever got so many 50mm lenses... The SMC Tak needs no counterparts! Beautiful lens, easy to use, a charm...

Yes, the 50mm f1.4 is a special lens. And you have produced some special images with it. Very enjoyable, especially that wine glass. Spooky!

Thanks. Cusco is a very photogenic place. I'm going back in a month to collect the passport. I'll be taking the 135mm this time, or maybe the 105.

Have fun and wish you well... Me personally, I'd do a 105 - more of a "in the moment" enamourment with the focal lenght after a recent acquisition...

Thanks, Edom. I think I will take the 105. It has a somewhat wider field of view and focuses closer, 4ft as opposed to 6, and is half a stop faster making it more versatile. Maybe that and the 55mm f2. I really like how that lens renders colors.

Never knew hamsters were an item of diet unless maybe in China. This shot reminds me of some of the dog dishes I was served in China back in the 1980s.

Is that a month without your passport while in a foreign country while you wait for the office to check it is real and make your new one? Scary. How would you prove you were legally there?

Most countries where I have travelled either give you a receipt for use while they are holding your passe or tell you to inform the apprehending policeman that the police are holding it. Swiss hotels take your passe overnight and return it each morning so police can check each night on aliens present in the country. At least, this is how I found things when travelling extensively back in the 1980s.
