They should find some way to modernize the Takumars (bayonet mount, maybe a few AF models) and bring them back as new. As long they render as a Takumar should.
I know I'd buy one!

I wouldn't mind some modern primes built to the quality of a Takumar, but I think most of them are a bit too out of date for a true rehash. They still compete decently today but at the pricepoint on the used market.

I'm not sure whether I'd buy these. For me the appeal is really working with all manual lenses (so camera controlled aperture and AF would actually be a negative for me), and the compactness and price point of these lenses, so even if they would be able to reproduce the rendering, I would still prefer my takumar.

BTW, the fate of most of these lens remakers (meyergoerlitz etc) doesn't exactly inspire too much hope for such a venture.

I agree with @HoutHans. I came to Pentax at about the time of the release of the MX, so the lenses were all M-series by then. All I knew was K-mount, so the Takumars were all so much yesterday's rubbish. Screw mount? Puh.

How little I knew. Shooting them adapted to digital is a joy, and the IQ is magic. But at least some of that is the enjoyment of mounting the lens, feeling the heft (which I doubt recreations would...recreate) and going through the deliberate process of working with them

I'm happy.

Taks slow me down and make me think. Not so much spray & pray. More meditative to use.

True for me, too, except that I'm a rather pokey photographer all of the time, even when using AF lenses (which I don't have a great many of). So shooting manual lenses, never seems like much of a time sacrifice to me anyway.

Test shots with Takumar 50mm f 1.4.

This lens shows some yellowing, but I cannot tell that this is influencing the images I am creating using it on my newly re-acquired K-10.

KIT: Takumar 50mm f 1.4 (6 blades), using on my dedicated Tak platform, a K-10 that I purchased when it first came out, gifted to a friend, and reacquired when the screw drive failed, turning this K-10 into a permanent manual focus camera. That is OK because I have not been able to get AF to work with these Tak lenses anyway, apparently because of design deficiencies. :>) (Just joking guys!)
