Just for fun today I went out to Port Meadow with my Tak 300/6.3 preset and the STak 300/4. The light was dull, no glare but a bit dark. The 6.3 seems to significantly less able to give sharp an aberration unaffected pictures that the 4. The 4 seems to need to be stopped down to 8 to do well, and the 6.3 to about 11.

The meadow had large flooded sections making a lake for geese and the dry bits had a large herd of cattle, a mob of horses and crowds of people.

Tomorrow I will try out the 1000 (Rubinar) and a shorter Tak, to be decided which one.

This morning I took the STak 35/2 into the centre of town, along the canal. Focusing at 2 and shooting at 8 most of the time, it seems to be easy to use and often produced good results. Buildings in town and the canal and the moored boats.

I decided I must deliberately get to know my Tak collection. The ins and outs of using each of them.

Neat picture. I've never seen that spider before, it's so well camouflaged!

Thank you kindly. Yes, she is so small and well camouflaged that I only noticed her because of the hoverfly's strange posture!
Best.

Out for a late afternoon hike. He's getting tired because we have already done more than a mile in rough, hilly terrain. One more rest and then it is time to high-tail it out of here before the sun goes down. SMC Takumar 55mm F/2.

Lovely shot! I've been after the 28/3.5 for awhile. Just got a K-3 and wondering what type of M42 to K adapters you guys use; the official one or a 3rd-party? Cheers.
