A couple of simple hand held shots taken from my balcony last evening.

K-3 + Super Takumar 50 (8 element). I forgot to note the aperture, but it was approx F4-5.6 for both images.

This shot was also taken from my balcony roughly one hour after the dusk shots above.

It is hand held, with my elbows supported by the balcony wall, so relatively stable. (I was too lazy to pull out the tripod.)

My first impression was to trash this image, since it is very soft, but I thought it was unique enough to save. It is fairly heavily cropped.

I miss having a dog, but medical problems with the Mrs doesn't work out. Our last dog was a smooth collie we called Lady, a rescue from an old folks home where over 5 years of living there the 19 inch tall dog weighed 52 pounds. After 3 months visiting the local Columbian Ground Squirrel fields she was down to 35 and getting into all the lovable and not so lovable antics.

I know how you feel ! I had to put down our 18 yr old Ariel (Yorkie) a couple years ago. Told the missus that is it, we're done, no more dogs, too painful. About 6 months later I caved... and I ended up being the one to surprise HER with a puppy! LOL! Sorry for your loss, I hope a new pup lands in your lap again some day if it's meant to be and circumstances change. Dog's are awesome sources of unconditional love.
Hang in there!
Eric

Thanks, Eric, but we won't have a pet again. Perhaps if she goes first (she's 79, I'm 81) I'll get one for company. She has COPD and arthritis and an autoimmune skin condition, so her health is slowly going down.
