Hello Mike,

2999 is an eyecatcher- I like this kind of photography.

Very nice colours and a great idea of composing.

Thank you. It was just a random chance shot of a taxi next to me in traffic one night. I get lots of chances for those, but it is very hard to find one where the roof of the taxi is black and the background area will also render black.

You been on a trip recently? Some of your recent shots are a far piece from Hiroshima.

Yeah, the wife and I got away for a few days. It's been over ten years since she's been to Tokyo and she'd never been to Yokohama...that's inaka girls for you.

My wife hasn't been to Tokyo for ten years or so and we're only a short drive or train ride away. I tell her I go six days a week and she isn't missing anything.

Well we're leaving Japan in January and needed to see her brother who lives in Yokohama. We had a good time though and I found some cool 2nd hand camera stores.

Wonderfully moody shots figmental1978, I particularly like the first one. Love the colours of the second one, seems almost monochromatic at first glance (the monochromatic bookends help I suppose).

@Mike - definitely fitting that you got #3000, and with a lovely shot to boot.

Thanks very much. I had my heart set on #2000 but was stuck at work when that came around.

Still working on trying to nail the focus on these two new long taks I've acquired. The birdfeeder is set up in view of a bathroom window in the back of the house. The minimum focusing distance for the 400 is 27ft but with my extention tube no. II I can cut that to bring the feeder within range. So here's a few from yesterday. They're better than my first efforts but I still have a ways to go. This is proving to be a tough lens to master.

I know it would help if the feeder wasn't in the shade but in my yard is there no where that isn't in the shade.
