Oh, one more thing MaG1Xx, if you don't mind. I tried posting a photo again to no avail. I clicked on the 'insert image' icon. I went to photobucket and brought up the photo I wanted, then copied and pasted that between the image brackets.

But still a red x. Am I missing a step or something? Thanks in advance!

I stumbled across this poor guy while out walking.
I don't find this image to be even slightly disturbing but if you are not a fan of deceased wildlife then look away now

Thanks, MaG1Xx!

I took the photos in large jpeg and then in photobucket I changed the size to make them smaller to try to fit them here.

Now they look different, not as sharp as they were. Does anyone know why that is and how to avoid that in the future?

AlpenTak, that looks just like what our cat left for me on the front step last week, poor little guy.

Here are a couple of images from a foggy Thanksgiving morning.
Both were made with my k100ds and Super Takumar 50 1.4
I am starting to pursue other Takumars.... is it worth paying more for the SMC coating?

IMO yes, Some of the non SMC lenses are still excellent but for the most part, the SMC's are the best versions of that particulary focal length. For example the 50mm you have is excellent but the SMC version is just a little better.

Popped in to see if anyone had posted new photos.

Mike, I can't get over how crisp and detailed the photo of the motorcycle policeman is, right down to the sheen of the bike's paint job.

Tdmsu, the photo with the water droplets on the berries is neat.

MaG1Xx, the 50 1.4 is on my wish list. I really like the depth of field in the toadstool photo.

Michele, I like how the light catches the edge of the jar like that.

Thanks for sharing everyone.

There isn't always and exact SMC version of previous versions of taks for a given focal length though. There are variations even among the 50mm f1.4 super taks optically as well as with aperture diaphragms. Another example is the S-M-C 85mm f1.8 and the Auto-Tak f1.8 that have different optical formula, different coating and different diaphragms. I agree however that the SMC taks are likely to be quite good. I just think that some of the earlier taks get a bad rap quite often.

This is a great shot. (I too like to take "contra jour" shots of the breakfast things and table-top flower arrangements)
