I snatched a few lenses here to play with. The latest is SMC 1.4/50.

The Super-Tak 1.4 was pretty yellowed, when I received it about 3 months ago. It looked out of my window for most of the time and now the colorization is almost gone.

Super-Takumar 1.4/50@5.6
SWEET!

And is that a one piece neck?

My first post...Hi everyone! A shot I took on Fathers Day with a Super Tak standard 50 f1.4... a total beater.
So bad in fact, there's a petrified bug stuck to the inner lens glass. But I still get results occasionally. I love this old lens.

I know the highlights are a little blown, but I think it lends to the sort of mystical ethereal quality that the bokeh seems to encourage in this lens.

I'd love to see where that BUG is, because I sure can't tell from these photos.

I took this in Brooklyn, NY a couple of years ago. According to my cousin, this car has been there for years.

I think we've seen this one before (not that I mind seeing it again). I say that because I seem to remember Ira talking about how it's shots like that that make him glad he doesn't live in NY.

But, with that in mind, here's one I posted once before. The first time I left it in colour, but I think it works better as B&W:

Your wish is my command. lol... I can't tell either. The bug just doesn't show up as a smudge or anything. It's weird. The bug resides at about the 2 o'clock position, halfway between dead center and the outside ring.

The bug climbed in and died while I was de-yellowing the lens under a black light.

Beware! Black light, or UV light attracts flying bugs and little did I know something that large could just crawl right inside a Super Takumar. Wah!!!
