For Mike Cash

Actually that is Guido in disguise. He is still looking for you Mike. Hope you have your 300mm with you at all times.

I will soon be able to add a Super Tak 105/2.8 to my signature. I'll post the first shot.

Actually, he was thinking... "Holy bananas, Is that a Takumar?".
I guess that's why he gave me a thumbs up after I shot the photo, hehe

Super Takumar 105/2.8

Came today. Just three quick test shots. The lens is absolutely EX+, maybe better. I'm not sure it has ever been mounted.
First and third shots were croped and resized only, second needed a little adjustment to the exposure levels. Still need practice using manual lenses on the K100D S

I didn't get you right at first. I used to have a cockatiel and her name was Guido.

Just got one!!

Super Takumar 1:1.8/55. I've only been out with it once and that was just around on the dog walk. Nothing really exciting to see on the dog walk. But here's a couple. It will take a little getting used to. It's a bit different. But I like it.

I cropped away about half the original shot on this one

playing around with the bokeh

and of course no lens testing would be complete without the requisite shot of the dog.

Great shot of your doggy Mel. I really like the colors that these old Takumars produce.

Thanks!! I've been going through a wee little ebay lens buying spree (most expensive one was an M1:1.7/50 for $21.50) and taking shots of the dog with each one. It's been quite interesting to see what color she turns with each different lens. None are the same.

It is fun to play around with each lens, they all do have there own personalities. Not everyone understands this!

That E-bay is bad, bad, evil place. I just purchased a Super Takumar 300mm f4.0 there this morning and now have my eye on a 17mm.......

I stay away from the big ones. I set myself a $20 limit and only broke it once, by only $1.50. I got the tak for one cent under my limit. I need to stay away now.

As for the color cast, one lens gives my dog a bluish cast, another gives her a reddish cast. Another seems to add too much black or something (hard to describe, she's just always all dark) The tak seems to be the closest to the color she actually is. The dog is a good basis of comparison. Besides, she's cute.

A car shot (Aston Martin) from earlier today, not enough space to maneuver with the 85mm though:

Lucky to pick up a SMC Takuma 1.8 55 this week. I was determined to start getting some good shots of grand kids. Still to master the lens but here goes.

Just a snapshot from yesterday of my boys. I really like this focal length for people pictures. And I think the colors turn out really nice as well. Not bad for a $10.00 lens.
