free M42>K mount case ;-)

maybe most of you do that since long, and it is only me who discovered late,
the 'free' case for the M42 mount adapter:

in the rare cases the adapter gets taken off the camera to mount my AF K mount lens,
it gets stored away locked inside the rear cap of the K mount lens

Kuuan,
I used to do that, but quit when I like to never got it out of one of my authentic Asahi lens caps.

oh Blue, good to know.
I had not verified if it worked well with an original Pentax rear cap. A Sigma 17-70mm is the only K mount, non M42 mount lens I carry.
It locks very nicely inside the Sigma's rear cap, similar to locking into the camera mount but more easily, less tight, and is easy to remove

Do Takumar have wide angle lenses?
Although much more rare than 28mm and longer lenses there's 15mm,17mm fisheye, 20mm etc... I suggest you check the Pentax M42 Screwmount Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

Hi All,

I've been enjoying the beautiful photos in this thread for some time and recently got a hold of a Takumar S-M-C 50mm f1.4. What a pleasure it is just to hold this lens not to mention use it! I finally got a Pentax screw mount adaptor this week and got to try the lens out on my K200d:

Yeah, I'm a happy camper.

most of them are rather dear..the 24 the cheapest for about 150usd?
By checking both here and my site here : Formules optiques et prix - Takumar - The eyes of the Spotmatic you should have a good idea of the prices

I will soon receive my Takumar 58/2

There are a few lenses missing from your list and also 1 or 2 on your list that do not exist, except maybe in a prototype.

That 50/1.4 is indeed quite impressive (moreso than the FA 50 imo), but I would give credit to the photographer for these nice pictures!

fantastic photos Doug, VERY beautiful!
congratulations for the S-M-C 1.4/50, what a start! ( it sure won't stay your only Takumar ;-) )
it was one of the very first lenses I had bought, since then about 60+ more, and the S-M-C 1.4/50 still is my favorite

I see there is a type about the Pentax 500/5.6, but I do not see for other lenses. The Takumar 83/1.9 and 100/3.5 (M42) do exist, as I have both of them

Those weren't the ones I'm referring to. I know they exist.

85/1.8 Version 2 (6/6)
  • Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 85/1.8 [220-280€]
  • SMC Pentax 85/1.8
However, if you have a SMC 85/1.8 Takumar I want to see an image of it.

35/2.5 Version 2 (6/6)
  • Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135/2.5 Version 2 [100-130€]
  • SMC Pentax 135/2.5
Same thing for the SMC 135/2.5 Takumar.

Also, there is a early and late version of lens, one with 3.5 -22 (early) and one with 3.5 -16 (late).

28/3.5 Version 1 (7/6)
Super Takumar 28/3.5 Version 1 [45-65€]
There is also an early version of the ST 35/3.5 that has 3.5-22 but your list doesn't differentiate.

35/3.5 (5/4)

  • Super Takumar 35/3.5
  • Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 35/3.5 [35-55€]
  • SMC Pentax 35/3.5
There were 2 variations in this lens as well, although they are minor differences.

Takumar 35/4 [100-150€]
These are just some things I saw from a quick look at your list. If you are trying to create a check list for models and variations in the Takumar line then your "Takumar - The eyes of the Spotmatic" should reflect this.

Edit: Apparently part of what you are doing is lumping in a few of the k series lenses from 1975 to ~ 1980.

Yes, that's what I explain with :
QuoteQuote:
This page is designed to give all lenses names that correspond to a same optical formula, so I didn't detail all design variants in design, and included some K's that use the same optical formula as Takumars. The idea of giving the prices came after, I should update some things in this page, I juste need to take the time
