HI DJ Saunter!!

Tell me the true. How much time did you wait for the correct position in the last pic??

Well, it's a very nice pic !!!!

Rino
5 minutes and 4 shots to line it up right. I should have stopped down a bit to get the people sharper.

I crossed over to the Darkside!! I managed to purchase this for a really good price , about the same as a Tak 85/1.8 , too bad it only works on my EOS body

Taken with 2 100W houselights , a home made softbox out of foamcore, an old slate tile , and some christmas wrapping paper found within reach oh and a Super Multi Coated Tak 50mm/f1.4 at f2.8

This may sound like a silly question. But I here nothing but good things about the SMC tak 55 1.8 but see so many great photos with the super tak 55-2 . Are they closer in performace than I am led to believe?

They are almost identical in performance. The glass and optical formula should be identical, only the max aperture opening is slightly different in size. I think the f1.8 vs f2.0 was only just a marketing gimmick to price one slightly more than the other. Same thing with the Auto Tak 55/2.0 vs 55/2.2.

Super Tak 85/1.9 at a Wedding

Okay so these may not be the most amazing photos you've ever seen, but I am pretty pleased with how they came out considering how hard it is to get a proper focus using the 85 on my K-x with no additional help (no split screen, no magnifier, no live view). These were mostly stopped down to about 5.6, if I recall correctly.

Note that photos were shot as raw, and because this was one of my first real attempts at using Lightroom, I felt pretty free to blast away with the sliders and cropping.

All of the outside photos were shot using the 85/1.9. All inside photos (except for maybe the first 1 or 2 were shot using the DA40. Here's the full gallery:

It does, but they get lost in the translation.

Luv the Mickey D shot. BTW, what does a big mac cost in Japan (in USD)? Just curious because when I lived in Germany in the mid-80's, a big mac was about $4.50 USD, when it was only $1.65 in the states. I haven't had a big mac in 25+ years.
