That's good to know. My wife told me not to get carried away on ebay. Last Friday, I won a Super Takumar 1:1.8/55 for $14.50 and a SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.8 for $15.50. Guess I can tell her that even if it is addictive, it ain't expensive.
That's how it always starts....

It isn't just about the price...it is about the value. Point her at the Flickr Takumar group and she will see just what those wonderful el cheapo lenses can do.

It ain't for nothin' that this thread is so incredibly active.

Show her what comparable new lenses cost and she'll appreciate the new habit all the more.

You look more like Chief, there... Good portrait - is the flash firing outside the frame?

Nope, it was still mounted from some earlier shooting. I think I may was shooting the fishtanks with it.

One for Mike Cash. This driver was throwing boxes into the truck as the woman just appeared in the frame. I like the pole between the two -- this was in a rather upscale neighbourhood. 85mm f1.9:

Nice sentiments, thank you, yes, he loves just picking up a stick and 'singing'
as he whacks it around.

(Tak 150 f/4)

We have an intercom in his crib area, and we can hear him
'talking' to all his stuffed animals before he drifts off to sleep. In the morning,
they're all over the crib or the floor - he has some sort of party every night in there

Everything stops when a bird or plane flies over, or a big noisy truck drives
past - he loves trucks and big buses, and will spend up to a minute looking
up in a tree for a bird he heard. (that's why I have so many shots of him looking
up - one of the rare moments when he's sitting still is when he's looking
for a bird.)

(Tak 150 f/4):

He also for some reason loves to sing to trees and bite the bark (he is
still teething):

(Tak 105 2.8)

He likes to get down real close to see ants and small insects:

(Tak 150 f/4)

You should go see your grandson & take some shots!

.
I get to see him 3 or 4 times a year. I'm in VA, and he is in WA. It looks like he will be coming here for Christmas and I have the new (to me) Super Tak 1:1.8/55mm to try out. Hope to also have a 28mm by then.

Sorry, just meant to reply without reposting the pics. Must have had a senior moment.

Sign me up!

I finally broke down and bought a TAK

one of the latest ones, to be sure, 35mm F2 Super Multi Coated.

It makes me think back to my first camera, a Ricoh XR-2s with 50mm F2. all I need now is the diagonal split image ... soon I think.

Good eye, Blue point to be exact.

he is 3 1/2 years old, and spends about 20 hours per day sleeping in this cat bed.

the other 4 hours he spends either eating or sleeping somewhere else. God what a life

We have one about the same age. He's pretty much living the same life, only he likes sleeping in the windows during the day. (I apologize for the non-Tak photo)
