In my opinion, it is very much better. Before it was a snapshot. Now it is a photograph.

My turn to ask a question:

This photo is the same subject as the last one I posted, but from a different angle and in color instead of b/w. Which is better?

Mike...I'm usually a sucker for B&W...but in this case I prefer the color one. I really like the age spots on the stones and the hint of green in the background. Just my 2 cents. Both are nice though.

I feel so proud of myself lol. I like the BW more, it draws the attention to the statue and not to the plants behind it.

Photo #1: The person looking out of frame draws attention to outside that corner, where there is nothing for us to see.

Photo #2: A very small point.....straighten the photo. It is slightly tilted. (But the subject is so unusual that it is hardly noticeable. Nice motion blur on the spinners).

Photo #3: The dark object on the lower left side and the sign on the upper right side are distracting and add nothing to the scene. Try cropping them out.

Important Point: Unless you are taking photos on commission from a customer, the only person who has to like them is YOU. If you like it, then there are no "mistakes".

If we're talking about the subject, I think the BW is a bit better, if we're talking about the photograph, I like the textures in the color...

A newly acquired Super-Takumar 55/1.8, this along with my S-M-C-Tak 135/2.5 have the smoothest focusing mechanics of all...

Hi Siamtahi. I don't know how to put pictures size by size. I just uploaded and it turned out that way. Hi Mike I really like your pictures and observation. I am a beginner. If you could point out which I need to improve from my skill. I would be very appreciated

My turn to ask a question:
I think the B&W was a more interesting photo. The composition was simpler and the subject isolation through lighting techniques (or PP vignetting?) worked much better.

However, judging the second photo purely on its own merits, I definitely think it works well in color -- better than I'd predict it to as a B&W. I think the greens/browns/oranges convey an appropriate sense of great but living age.
