Are those guys replacing the hatch covers on a container ship?
Removing and stacking on the dock - to get in to the hold. The ship is the Newcastle Bay which takes foodstuff, cars and equipment from Cairns up to the Torres Strait - which is where I live so I had some personal connection to the operations. One more:

I was pretty sure I recognized those twist locks! I've never seen the hatch covers handled like that before. All the ones i see they just drop the regular container handling doohickey straight onto the cover and latch onto four holes in the cover. Pretty amazing bit of work to watch done, no matter how they go about it.

You ever had a chance to see how they place the container cranes on the dock?

I always assumed they built the cranes in situ, because surely there couldn't be any way to haul those things through the city and down to the docks. Silly me. They are delivered already fully built and arrive towering above the ship that carries them. Too bad the ship was already gone here, but you can see the humongous floating crane they use to put them into position on their rails.

On the oldest Taks the had a preset aperture. Meaning you had two aperture rings . One of them was to limit the minimum aperture you could set and then you twisted the other ring to open the aperture to the max so you could focus then twisted it the other direction till it hit the stop that you preselected via the other ring. To be honest I prefer this type as it allows infinite aperture settings and it's the workflow I learned with. Later they had Auto Taks. Where you set the aperture and armed the spring with the lever on the side and (if you had an auto camera) it tripped the aperture closed to the selected aperture. then of course you have the new ones that you are probably familiar with.
Hope this helps ?
Oh, I don't believe any Super Taks had preset only Taks

Preset refers to a type of aperture setting mechanism with two aperture rings. You set your desired shooting on one that clicks into position, but does not actually move the aperture blades. The other ring moves freely (no clicks) and can quickly and easily be moved from wide open to the desired shooting aperture you have "preset" on the first ring.

It was part of the evolution of aperture setting mechanisms and is really only important in the context of film cameras. On digital it is actually pretty nice. I don't think the Super Takumars were preset models. Remember, there were other Takumars before the Super Takumars. The preset models are usually called Preset Takumars.

Indeed - there is something special about this one - good composition NisMopar06!

I just picked up an AF280T, and already REALLY like it! The ability to tilt the head -15 degrees for macro work is nice. Here is a morning glory flower taken with Super-Macro-Takumar 50mm f4, K100D Super, ISO200, AF280T:

Went out for errands tonight and saw this hot-rod heading through my small town, glad I try and take my K-5 everywhere I go, and better yet tonight I felt the Super Tak 55 f2.0 needed some camera time (it's been awhile).

Chicken Waffle by natestation2 - Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 28mm f/3.5

Thought this was a good demonstration of what this lens is capable of on a full-frame sensor, or rather, in this case an old film camera. Used a Canon Elan 7 loaded with Ilford 50 Pan F.

I've noticed a more organic rendering to the OOF areas than I've seen with the SMC-M 28 f/2.8. Has anyone else noticed this?
