Yestereday I had some friends over for a pre-Christmas party. Some of them saw a koala in the garden, so I grabbed the 105 and got a few. It climbed one of my trees, not its native food, just to get to a tree. I often hear them at night from my house, there is a valley below with trees they do eat, so we often hear noises like pigs grunting. I never got so close to a wild one as this. I could also show an overseas visitor who had spent the past couple of months in the centre of the city.

I showed my lens collection to a friend with a Canon. He was mot impressed that the Taks can all be used on current dSLR, as part of the Pentax design philosophy, and that they all have shake reduction.

STak 105/2.8 at about 5.6, ISO200.

Mike,

Within minutes we put up very different subjects with very similar lenses. I notice you seem to like the 105, you use it often and obviously find it useful. I like mine, and have given it a reasonable amount of use because it is fairly fast and reasonably long. Also, the only thing I have between 55 and 135 long.

I like the colour in yours, like the weather was overcast but quite light. Mine has lesser colour because the sky was clear blue and it is summer here - really harsh light.

I've had the 105 stuck on my camera so long even I'm starting to get tired of it. Several months ago my wife moved everything I own and since then I don't even know where my 85/1.9 is, which I really ought to look for so I can have a change.

You really need to find that 85mm ... it was nice to get the bag out again and open it up to check over all the Taks again.
And go through my old images I have taken with them.

Was the 105mm one of the first ones you originally purchased Mike?

That particular 105, the Preset model, was one of the most recent purchases. Here's an 85 photo.
