Chex, your pictures are nice, but they would have benefited from a deeper DOF...
I thought again today about my 50/1.4, so I brought it at my grandma's. At the moment it's stuck again, but I'm going to open it again for repairs.
I also have a dead 50mm for parts that had me thinking I should get a third, broken copy, to make a working lens out of the two. Does anyone happen to have such broken lens?

Hmm, very interesting. So you mean it lacks the outer shell? With the aperture ring, DOF ring and focusing ring? Sorry, I don't think I can help you either, because mine had a fall, and now they're bent, so that movement is difficult. Apart from that, though, I hoped I could use the remaining unbroken pieces to repair another one.

Thanks. If I could, I would have closed the aperture more than f/1.4, so both would have been in focus. This way, I didn't want to lose focus on her.

"Hybrid" Super Takumar f1.4/50mm

there are two documented versions of the Super Takumar f1.4/50mm, the early 8 element version and the later 7 element version.
I happen to have a version which has most of the signs of the 8 element version, the red focus mark is to the right of the numeral 4, A/M switch says "A" and "M", it says "2" on the aperture ring instead of just having a dot, BUT it lacks the protruding rear element. I suppose that optically it is a 7 element version but in the body of the earlier 8 element, a lens produced during the transition period?

see for yourself:

( taken with preset Macro Takumar f4/50mm on NEX5N )

cheers,
Andreas

Andreas,
Thanks for being so generous, but they all look "pristine condition" to me. What exactly is wrong with it? I'm looking for a totally wrecked lens, to do some of my magic. Although I'd bet that one is a 7 element, I guess that the only way to be sure is to dismantle it and count.
Also, your travel pictures are amazing. I've just added you as a contact.
Regards,
Vladimir

Hi Vladimir,

well, I must admit that you misunderstood, I did not offer those to you to choose from but simply wanted to share my find of a "third, undocumented" version" of the Super Takumar f1.4/50mm and yes, all 3 are in working order.

I also have a defect Pentax M f1.4/50 which I keep for spare parts, but if you think that it would serve you I would send it to you for little money

cheers,
andreas

ok
this M lens only needs a good rear element to be in acceptable working order..
