It's when you lift the lens off the camera body slightly to change the focus area.

Thanks, I had never heard of that.

I already have a Lens Baby, though.

Mike, pretty similar concept. I imagine the lens baby would be a lot less at risk to introduce dirt and light artifacts; That being said, free lensing is cheap, and it was pretty fun. I'd like to try reversing the lens to get some macro shots.

Here's a very detailed History of the Early Pentax Cameras and lenses including many photos. I'm quite certain you will find information about yours.

Depending on the condition of the body and lens they should have significant value (operating condition but not perfect). Prices get higher as you add better condition and accessories. Here is my K with Auto-Takumar 55/1.8 (unfortunately lacking the original "Takumar" lens cap, which was thrown out with the bubble wrap). It is probably worth $300 - $350 as is and there are more of them out there. Yours appears to be an AP. It is likely more desireable.

I've had the Tak 55/1.8 and 135/3.5 for about a year. I acquired them along with a Spotmatic F for a really good price. I just haven't had the time to shoot with them. Then recently I happened upon a very good deal on Tak 200/3.5. So I decided that it was time to give these Taks a go, and that it would be quicker, and easier, to get the M42 adapter for my K-5 to try them out. As opposed to getting film and a new battery for the Spotmatic F, as well as waiting to get the film processed. So anyway, this is my first posting from my first Tak shoot, and more to follow...

LOL. I know only too well what you're saying. Sadly I am already no stranger to LBA.

I can't wait to see what the Tak 200 3.5 produces. I have one but haven't been able to shoot much with it because of work.

Sorry for the non-Takumar picture, it was taken with my Industar 61 L/Z, but the subject is still Takumar-related.

My "airborne" troops. It is very unusual to get one two days in a row like that. They are rare opportunities to begin with....you have mere seconds to be on them, focus, and hope you can catch them in the air. If you don't already have the camera in hand you can pretty much forget about it.

There are almost always obstacles of some sort obscuring the path of travel, further limiting the chance. Then there are "half-runners"....people who start running across a wide intersection to beat the light but who invariably stop running at the halfway mark and walk the rest of the way. I've gotten to where I can spot them as soon as they start across and don't even bother getting ready for them.
