It has been sunny and cold these past few days. So no excuse to not get out with the camera. I had tried this lens with poor results on the K20D but later realized I was forcing the camera to make bad decisions. I had left the ISO set at 800 from the night before and was shooting in glaring sunshine. Much better results when you let the ISO fall to much more reasonable levels.
The gull had dropped a clam from high onto the deck of the pier to open it and had wedged the shell in the grooves between the planks to get a better grip on its dinner.
Sea weed in the shallow water created a nice splash of colour:

I got some good results with this lens a few days ago. Will post after post is complete.
