While I've never tried myself, the extension tube should give you enough clearance.

What happens is that there are 4 slightly recessed screws on the Zenit mount. The body-detection pin that locks the M/A switch on S-M-C (and SMC) Taks gets trapped in these and locks the lens in place.

This is where I'm off today and I'm taking some of my Takumars with me. I have about 30 of them and never use them, maybe once a year, so today is that once a year day.
pictures coming later tonight.

Duke Farms is an estate that was established by James Buchanan Duke, an American entrepreneur who founded Duke Power and the American Tobacco Company. Located in Hillsborough, New Jersey the property is managed by the Doris Duke Foundation after the death of Doris Duke, the second owner. After extensive reorganization "Duke Farms" was opened to the public on May 19, 2012. This is 2,700 acres estate

No problem ... another time. Did you figure out the problem with the adapter? Is it an OEM Pentax one? J

Here's a couple of shots with Takumars working in the format they were designed for. The bike shot is with the s-m-c Takumar 35mm/3.5 and the old ruin is with the Super Takumar 20mm/4.5, both on Velvia 100F.

The 20mm shot is hand-held wide open, hence the soft corners. On film you need it stop it way down for sharpness across the frame, but as I've said before surgical sharpness is quite low on my list of personal priorities.

Cross posted in the film shots thread.

I like this. Especially that you used a reasonable depth of focus and brought more than one flower into consideration.

So many of my photos have a very narrow depth of focus. My resolution is to stop this!! Thanks for the encouragement. S
