Just a few from last week.

SMC Takumar 55/1.8

Part of the wall around the local castle is missing, so to make sure that people pay for their entry ticket there is a short stretch of railings.

The tower in the background were the royal apartments built in the 1560s by Robert Dudley in an attempt to woo the Queen. She resisted and he was almost bankrupted. There's a lesson there for all men

The castle's walls are thick sandstone, but sometimes bits of it needs a little modern help.

I think my 55/1.8 has developed a severe front focus problem. And there are strange spots all over the sensor.

Next weekend I should have a roll of Fujichrome Astia back from my ESII and a roll of Fuji Industrial Grade from my SV. Can't wait to scan them in and see how they turned out.

What an annoyance! Who's gonna take responsibility for this

Here's another example, back focus in this case. Oh yeah, the Takumars are just a black box of lucky shots :-)

Yes, I have the S-M-C Takumar 35/2, and I believe Lowell also has one. You got a very good price on yours. I paid about three times that much for mine.

Here are some photos from my 35/2 on both film and digital.

I paid about the same as Mr. Cash, you got a great deal! Here's one from my Super Takumar version when I first got out with it, hoping to spend the whole weekend using it. This will be the first time I've had any meaningful time and subject matter to photograph since it arrived in the mail a few weeks ago:

SMC Takumar 35/2 is definitely a keeper. I've got one, and the contrast is OK wide open, but not as good as a few stops down. I got an excellent deal on mine and have been very happy with it. Here is a shot with mine:

Damn, I got a bit carried away and tonight I bought a Spotmatic F with the following SMC lenses:

- 55/1.8
- 28/3.5
- 85/1.8
- 135/3.5

All in the original cases with the matching hoods and caps, mint to exc++.

And I only bought this to replace my somewhat rough S-M-C 85/1.8 with a near mint one

Well, you go ahead and pull out that near mint one, throw your other one in the box with the other items, and send it to me. I'll be glad to help you out of your dilemma; I'll enough go half on the postage. That's the kind of guy I am.
