Here's a shot from yesterday with my old 55mm f/2 SuperTak.

Unfortunately it seems to have some rather large chunks of something inside the lens now :-( I spent an hour cleaning up spots in lightroom yesterday. So I will be retiring this guy until I decide whether to have it cleaned or just replace it.
I would be very surprised if dirt in or on your lens results in visible spots to fix. I would expect it to result in generalised loss of contrast.. Much more likely that you have a dirty sensor - so try with other lenses with fairly plain images where dirt spots show up.

While cleaning the outer elements I held it up to the light and saw that there are large pieces of something or other inside the lens. They start to be visible in images that are shot around F/5, at F/16 they are large and clear spots. These spots are there whether I use the lens on my K01 or K5ii. It's clearly the lens that is the issue.

Of course, I can still use it from F/2 to about F/2.8 without creating a ton of work for myself.

I attached a picture to this post so you can see what I am talking about. A terrible picture that I am showing in public purely to demonstrate the crud in my much beloved lens.

Show-off. Aren't you tired of that old lens yet?

Actually that looks and sounds a lot like dust on the sensor to me.

I decided to double check after reading your post. I used both my 40mm and 105mm and shot a light at F/16 and they both have spots in the exact same locations. So I guess my 55 is fine and I just need to clean the sensor of my K01! Thanks to kcobain1992 and tim60

Don't worry about that, we all start things, and continue to make mistakes thereafter.

Has anyone ever opened a 15mm takumar before? I usually clean out the inside of all my old taks because I have all the lens tools and know how but the 15mm front element is weird.. Just wondering if anyone else has. Taken by my beautiful wife.

In the lens database, it says there are two versions of the 85 1,9. But are there three?

The versions described in lens db:
Super-takumar with minimum f16
and the Super-Multi-Coated also f16 (from what I've seen)

I've got the st f16, but today I found a Super-Takumar with minimum aperture f22, and the letters are slightly different from my st. Anywone know anything about this?
(Trying to find a good reason for buying another 85 1,9, when there is none, damn lba)

There was an 85/1.9 ST with f22 - made 1962-1964 (part number 864) and the f16 version was 1965-1971 (part number 870).

Yeah its awesome. Mine just has a lot of dust in it and if I stop down to like more then f8 it starts to show up in the blue sky... wish there was a online guide to taking it apart. Because I have all the tools. But I am afraid to just start taking it apart without a guide.
