KB - tervetuloa! I love your style, the chandelier and train shots are awesome!

Mike, I nearly joined the flash fray, but deleted what I wrote. I'll have to go look.

This one isn't so good, but I was working outdoors and enough breeze came up that I had to put the umbrella away.

Playing around with my 100mm 1:2 macro. I hooked it up with my Vivitar 2x converter, and tried some macro. Wing from my pet Dragon Fly.

Figmental, I so often see photos from Japan by Mike Cash that I somehow got the image that Japan through a Takumar would always look like a Cash. Your photos were shocking because it looks totally different! Great captures on both =) Film really have great dynamic range. You all film users are slowly converting me.... maybe I should just take the plunge.

@eccs: there's a 100/2 macro takumar?

Is this velvia enough? PPed SMC 50/1.4

Those are some lovely b/w photos. I'm among those who have spent considerable time and effort working on b/w conversions of digital photos. After scanning some Fuji Presto 400 and seeing the results I thought, "Now this is what I was looking for!"

And contrary to popular conception, I am not the only guy in Japan with Takumar lenses. I'm only trying to buy them all; I haven't actually managed to do it yet.

Film is its own brand of fun, Andi. Give it a try and you won't regret it.

Thanks Andi and Mike. The great thing about photography is even if two people are looking at the same thing, you're always going to get a differerent perspective. Also Mike and I live very far away from eachother and the environment is much different though no matter where you go in Japan, it's all Japanese And Andi, try some film, it's fun, easy and refreshing.

It's not a f2. Guess I didn't give enough detail. It's 100mm f4 1:2 Macro. Hope that clears that up for you.

To the Tak gurus (as I've not been able to find a definitive answer on this site or via Google). Having just purchased a couple of Taks from Ben's sale (in the Marketplace), I'm trying to learn more details about each. On the 135/3.5 S-M-C Tak, I found part #43542 which I was able to match to manufacture in 1971; on the 55/1.8 Super Takumar, I can only find serial number 1410351 and can't seem to match this to anything. There's no part # on the manual-auto switch and I'm not sure where else to look for one. Can anybody help with the Super Takumar 55/1.8?

FYI, attached is one listing I found that might help others. It's located here, but I printed it to PDF and attached as well.

There are some signs of spring starting to show up where I live. Shot wide open. Cropped quite a bit.
