Hi, all.

Here's my collection. I bought a few of these pieces about forty years ago, like the mint 85mm f1.8 which I got for a song.

I've been following everyone's posts with interest. I haven't been using the Taks lately so have not been posting myself. I expect that will change shortly.

All the best.
Jealous of your 85mm. Do you have a 135mm f2.5 or only the 3.5?

Thanks for viewing.

I don't have a 135mm f2.5. I have two 135mm f3.5's including the preset version which I prefer. From what I've seen in this forum the 2.5 is special.
My preference is for the wide end of the focal length range. I rarely shoot with anything longer than 35mm, though I use the preset 50 for macro and do like to use the auto-Takumar 55mm f2 from time to time.

Auto-Takumar 55mm f2.0 lens

After posting a reply to DireBear's question, I put the 55mm auto-Tak on my Sony full-frame and took a couple shots. (For those who count them, the lens has 10 blades.)

Very nice, Gub. I hope the lens was on a tripod.

Thanks for that. But na - best I can do is use a monopod braced against my body - they move around too much.

I live in an extremely damp climate, and despite my best efforts yet another of my precious Takumars has just started showing the first signs of fungus. This time it's the 105mm/2.8 that I'm going to have to take apart and clean, in an all too familiar ritual.

So this morning I've finally given in and ordered a digitally controlled drying cabinet, to hopefully give my lenses a better chance of surviving the Dartmoor climate. Can anyone who already uses one of these cabinets recommend a humidity setting that works well for Taks, keeping the lenses fungus free but without drying out the oils? I'm assuming that around 35-40% should do the job.
