Another photo taken with the preset 55mm f2.

That sky reminds me of the painted sky of the box of some toy or jigsaw my grandparents had. Must have dated to the 1930s.

Beautiful sky, and especially beautiful because you've kept it looking natural, the way I imagine I would have seen it with my own eyes.

Thanks, Dave. The skies are beautiful here, and I'm always looking up.

I also have the 55mm f1.8, but I don't think I've ever taken a photo with it until now. I don't really like the normal lens view, but as I said before there's something about the little preset 55mm f2 that charms, its size (46mm filter), the ten aperture blades and the subtle photographic qualities it seems to give to pictures taken with it, a nice color palette and soft contrast. But I did put the 55mm f1.8 on, and took a couple pictures of an anime figure. This one was taken at f2.8, to get enough of the figure in focus. The bokeh is the kind I like, creamy. Another nice Takumar.

One more with the 55mm f1.8, then I'll change the lens. But to which lens?

The welcome sight of Four Winds, where my car was parked, appearing out of the gloom in the last moments of light on a fog shrouded December afternoon. Super Takumar 20mm wide open at f/4.5.

Lovely images, Dave, Andrew & Eddie.
Taken late December with a Super Tak 28/3.5 (first version, late model). My car is also seen at center . I'm gonna be on the lookout for a replacement lens, since this one may have a decentering issue - note the softness on the right. I'll keep this lens around for non-landscape use, since I do love the colors and rendering.

Next to the 50's and 55's this is i think the most common so it should be easy to find a good one reasonably. I like mine, it's the right FOV for APSc and the rendering on these is great (as is the M decendant)

Nice Image despite the little softness.

Here is yesterdays Safety Shot for the Single in, a Double Shot Super tak 50mm f 1.4 Wide Open

Ahh. . . the perfect combination of the creamy rendering of the 50mm/1.4 with the delicious crema of a double espresso. Reminds me that one of the main problems of where I live is that you can't get a decent barista coffee within about thirty miles.

It'd be a shame to replace that 28mm when you're getting such lovely rendering with it, Paul. One possibility is that the front element group can sometimes work itself slightly loose over time. If you can unscrew the name ring, you might well find that you can re-tighten the front group just by using finger pressure without needing to go anywhere near the lens's delicate innards with a screwdriver. This was exactly the solution with my 20mm a few months ago when I thought it had developed a decentring problem, and it turned out to be an easy five minute fix.

I've used rubber cups, or protectors like you put on the bottom of crutches, to turn those without worry of scratching, just have to find the right diameter. They grab pretty good.

Ha, I'd hardly call a Nespresso machine perfect, but for something that will sit on my \desk at work so i can feed the addiction.....fortunately I have two really good coffee places withing a few minutes walk of my house (one of them has finally gotten used to the idea that i will take a quad to go with a spoonful of milk on top (my idea of a macchiatto when i need to get to work) , I'd love to have a proper machine on my desk but then i wouldnt have a desk
