Mato, you stopped that lens down a bit, right? Like, they weren't shot at 1.8, correct?

You might not remember, and with the manual lenses, this information isn't recorded in the EXIF data.

If you shoot wide open, you should get the Bokeh in the background, whatever the lens can deliver, and that's like a swirl to the out of focus area.

For you first post here, those shots are very cool. Just want to make sure you're aware of this technicality to these kinds of shots!

Hangu... all very nice, especially the blossoms and the B&W immediately following.

TimeBandit: no itīs apple tree.

Ira: No this shots are made at f2, I know that bokeh at f1.8 is much more swirly.

Very excited, waiting for k- mount adapter

I just received a 50mm f1.4 and 135mm f3.5 Super Takumars and I am awaiting arrival of the m42 to K mount adapter (for my K10D). Your photos are inspiring and I hope to be able to add a few soon.

Well, you have two that I have, so we can compare notes!!!

Ironically, so far. my 135 has blown my 105 out of the water, but I haven't used both enough to really make a valid judgment.

Edit:

Needless to say that the 50 1.4 is shear heaven.

I go off for my annual three day getaway and you guys let the thread drop down to page two. I am disappointed (though extraordinarily pleased at the great shots posted since the last time I poked my nose in the door).

Mike,

This is a wonderful image, wow! It has everything going for it, when I look at it, I expect to see some advertising with it. It is definitely a picture for a magazine ad.

And the mother's expression is great, not to mention the color, action, and the see-through umbrella.

Again, that SOB has to shove his 85 in my face!!!

Sharon, in the right hands (like Mike's), the beauty of these lenses is their natural look, a film like quality.

If you could frame this shot with a DA 15, it just wouldn't look the same.

This shot could be now or 1975. With the 15, it can only be 2010.

Mike really moves me to appreciate the beauty of these lenses, even though most of my shots stink by comparison.

And although I love Hangu's stuff, I've recently learned he's a sadistic b*stard!!!

(Inside joke.)

So in other words, she's saying FU to her kid in the back? Who's getting rained on?

I would alert the authorities to keep an eye on how he or she develops.
