Well, if she was willing to sell it to you with the ss# on it, i'd guess it would be safe to sell it to someone else. Also, there's not much you can do with a social security number on it's own.

Also, you decide to sell that black spotty, please let me know! I love me some black slr bodies!
I now have a 2 spotty bodies: 1 regular and 1 black. I'll have to decide what to do. Keep both, sell 1?. The black one looks so much cooler. But if I want a camera to actually use, then the other body might be better. Which means I should really just keep both, right?

well I'm back with some tak's shots from my last session

Super-Tak 105 @ f/4 (as usual)

also i'm starting to think about something faster... maybe 85/1.9 or 135/2.5. what are you thinking about it, folks?
Fantastic shot, NoMaD!

Ira, you obviously need to get a better copy of the 105. (evil grin!)

Let me just say, I'm a big believer in "if it aint broke, don't fix it". If your attached photo is any indication of your work, than I'd say you've got nothing that needs to be fixed!

I think that's an absolutely wonderful photo! I'll admit though, if you've got the money, there will be plenty of times where an f/1.9 vs and f/4 might certainly bail you out of some situations.
there is Caucasian toast:

I have a wish to buy a cow but have no possibility. I have a possibility to buy a goat but have no wish. So let our wishes always match our possibilities!

I mean I do want FA*85 or A*135 but for today i can hardly afford the same Takumars.

And again do you guys know why the 30-years-old lens goes for 300 bucks? I'll tell ya - that's because of you guys who have two 135's, dozen of 50's and the whole shelf of other stuff. Do you hear the cry? It's plenty of your lenses crying for a daylight.

I actually have to shoot with it more--will put it on there today and post later. The thing is, with the 85 at 1.9, I don't know if I really need the 105 at 2.8, and I love the heft of the 85.

But who am I kidding--I need them all.

I have to tell you that my unemployment is the best cure yet for LBA. There are are only two or three more I have my eye on, and only one of them is a Tak--the 17, but unless a miracle happens, forget it. The price on that thing has gone through the stratosphere.

Glad to see the thread is still alive, I've been back out using my Takumars lately. Current favourite is my SMC 55mm f1.8. Great lens all things considered.

Here's one from the past weekend with it on the K20

And yeah, everyone should have a 105mm f2.8 Takumar in their bag

jamonation - very cool. Where is that? Looks like something I saw at The Tate Modern once, except those boxes were all white.

NoMaD_PS - wow! Those last two of yours are properly awesome (in the original sense of the word - for an explanation of the subsequent watering down of the term google Eddie Izzard's rant about the misuses of it).

Here's one I thought I posted, but clearly cocked up somehow:

Thanks LensScribe, it's at the Medical Sciences building on the University of Toronto campus. Was built in the 70's and all the building accents have a genetics theme. I'll post another of the main exterior once I'm happy with it.

Really great use of extension tubes on that strawberry, I find it so satisfying when shots like that turn out, especially at greater than a 1:1 magnification ratio. I'm guessing it was a pretty long exposure, couple seconds?

Great, look forward to seeing it!

Thanks. Yeah, it's most satisfying, because the margin for error is so huge. Actually, only 1/3 second, but that's because I had a light on it. A friend and I were shooting stock with a pair of 500W stobes, but for this shot I just laid one on the bar next to the strawberry and used it as a modelling light.

I tried to do one of said friend's iris too, but only one came out half as well as I'd hoped. I intend to try again using bellows or another set of extension tubes. Macro is the one thing I find difficult with takumars though, as stopping down without moving anything is tricky, and focusing with a lens on tubes without opening up is impossible.

True though using the bellows tripod mount instead of the camera's it is a little easier. It just seems strange with the camera hanging off the back of the whole apparatus.
