That was a touching story, but you know as well as I do that not all Taks are equal.

And to me, the Super-Tak 105 is the least equal of all.

Mind you, like I said, I'm going to dedicate this lens to macro work with my bellows, and extension tubes just purchased. (Original Pentax brand!)

But for walking around shooting in my bright Florida sun--eech. It's either flare, or washed out.
Hi Ira.

I saw a lot of mick's pics and didn't watch any problem with the 105s. It's a nice lens to me. Really not as sharp as the 85 (specially the SMC 1,8 version, the best for me). A few days ago, I saw a comparison among the SMC tak 105 and the nikkor one. The differences were subtles and not for the nikkor in all the cases. At F/ 2,8, the nikkor won. But not at 5,6.

The 105 not so bad, man.

Yes, I know, the tests are relative things, but they give us an idea of the lens rendering.

My best regards, Rino.

Mike has the Preset and the S-M-C versions, whereas I have the Super. And yes, I've seen great shots with the Super.

But they weren't mine!

Me and this lens just don't get along, but maybe we'll reconcile when I start using it for macro.

Mike Cash gets consistently superb looking, artistic results from his 105s.
Mike Cash is mortified at the thought of the word "artistic" being applied to any of his photos. Mike Cash also has a computer chock full of utter crap from his 105s and all his other lenses as well.
