Hi every body. I am a newbie. I had a Kx from Feb with an old Takumar 50mm 1.4. I prefer using manual and the Takumar. Since then I purchased SMCTakumar 28mm F3.5 for $60.00, SMC 135mm F3.5 for $40.00. Super Takumar 200mm F4 for $40.00. Super Takumar 55mm F2 for $15.00. I have kit lens and Tamron 70 -300mm: however, I always use the Takumars. I think I like the colors of Takumars, and it is fun to use it manually.I am tempting buying more old glasses. May I join the group? I don't know how to post pictures. Have a good day
No invitation needed! You're very welcome to join the group.

You can post photos in a number of ways, but probably the best way is to set up an account at one of the many personal gallery websites that are around. The most popular one around here seems to be flickr: Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing . When you upload photos there, you can hit an option that says "Share this" and it will give you a bit of code to copy and paste into your posts on the forums here that will insert a photo.

I look forward to seeing some of your photos!

What does the S-M-C version of the 35/2 go for? I paid about $90 for mine and it looked like it came straight out of the factory.

I paid $125us for my S-M-C 35/2. Not factory fresh perhaps but hardly used.

One I was bidding on ends tonight. It's up to 235 at the moment with 14 hours or so to go. I lean a little towards Steinback I could get the autofocus 35/2 for less than double. Which is stupid because I manually focus most of the time anyway.

I wonder if that plastic fa 35/2 will be worth more than it sold for 30 years from now though?

S-M-C Takumar 24/3.5

The lens works well, unfortunately it requires a photographer that knows what he is doing.

Okay, I have this personal problem stemming from LBA. I love shooting old Pentax Medium Format lenses on my APS-c. I did start a club for this, but am pretty much the only poster in it--this does not quench the side-effects accompanying LBA--surely you all understand the disease's many headedness??? I need to post these shots where they will be seen, in comradery, and come to you all to seek permission for this----here, in the sacred "Takumar Club."

Before stoning me to death, please understand these Medium Format lenses have the word Takumar stamped on them in many cases. Not only that, but they are manual focus and must be stopped down, much like my Auto Takumar lenses. Also, if you do not allow me an outlet for my LBA, there is no telling to where this might lead.

So, with all due respect, I plead for posting permission here, assuring you this is not iconoclastic, and will not cause a schism within the church. However, if one of my fellow churchmen objects, I'll immediately delete the MF posts & return to the obscurity of the "Medium Format on Crop Sensor" thread.

Here goes nothing:

I just realized... the Takumar 200 f/4 is the new Takumar 50 f/1.4!!

Well, maybe not, but I've really enjoyed the 200 recently. It deserves some love

Strange things happen in Alaska:

Off the Mt. Loop Hiway

I've shot thru the 24/3.5 for many years, one of my favorite focal lengths.

Jatrax and ChaseTheLight thank you for the 24/3.5 posts. I think I might like this lens on the crop sensor. Way out of my comfort zone on film though. Certainly less expensive than the 35/2 lately.

Jeweltrail, Do you use the official pentax 67-kmount adapter? Is it still available? I suppose the crop factor is pretty severe?

Hi Eric:

I honestly do not know if the adapter is official. It looks official, works official, so I guess, to some degree, it is official. More seriously though, I got it at Ebay and have not had a problem with it. It is stamped Pentax PK on the top. If you are serious, I could search Ebay and see if I could find the seller again. I must have bought it at least 16 months ago. What is extra nice is the bulit in tri-pod mount--works great when I take the Medium Format 165mm 2.8, couple ot to a 2x tele, for a 330mm 5.6 with excellent IQ.

The crop factor does not change: 55mm is still 55mm. So, for example, the DA 55 would have the same fov as this lens does on my K20d= 1.5 times 55=82.5
