I really do *not* need to be looking at this!
Or maybe I should say, I really need to NOT be looking at this.

Fotodiox Pro Pentax 67- Pentax K Mount Adapter - eBay (item 350245941895 end time Nov-21-10 16:12:42 PST)
That does look like the one I have, but I do not think it is the same shipper, unless they have a new name. I could do a little research and see what turns up though. In the meantime, here is another shot with the 67 SMC Pentax f4, CF:

I just checked some 67 prices, and there are one or two, considering the cost of the adapter, make it interesting.

Especially the macro, I think 150, but don't remember.

Beautiful photo I noticed it's the SMCT 55... still waiting for my own good deal for this lens.

Hi Eric:

I honestly do not know if the adapter is official. It looks official, works official, so I guess, to some degree, it is official. More seriously though, I got it at Ebay and have not had a problem with it. It is stamped Pentax PK on the top. If you are serious, I could search Ebay and see if I could find the seller again. I must have bought it at least 16 months ago. What is extra nice is the bulit in tri-pod mount--works great when I take the Medium Format 165mm 2.8, couple ot to a 2x tele, for a 330mm 5.6 with excellent IQ.

The crop factor does not change: 55mm is still 55mm. So, for example, the DA 55 would have the same fov as this lens does on my K20d= 1.5 times 55=82.5
Thank you for the info. I'm curious as to how there would not be a larger crop factor? I assumed since the image area on the 6x7 film would be 60mmX70mm versus 24x36 for 35mmfilm versus 24x16 for crop sensor.

But then again doesn't a 90mm lens on medium format have about the same FOV as 50mm in 35mmfilm ? Maybe thats it?

Oh GREAT another way to spend money

Thanx again.

Eric

That first shot looks familiar, but I remember it as being a hell of a lot smaller.
Unfortunately, that happens with age. (so I've heard )

Yes, the Macros are usaully a good deal, but I have seen many 67 lenses go on ebay for under $100. I bought a mint 165mm 2.8, in box and new leather case, shipped, for $90 on Ebay. I couple that lens to my Tamron SP 2xBBAR MC7 tele for an excellent 330mm f 5.6. And the whole setup is lighter than my SMC 300 f4 was. Not only that but the 330 67 close focuses more than twice as close as the SMC 300 and outperforms it in almost every way--the only exception being the added stop of the SMC 300. Here are a few shots my $100, 67 330mm Takumar--the last shot is the 67 330mm setup, alongside of my SMC 300mm f4. None of the shots are crops--except the lenses shot.

Eric, you are welcome. Yes, the 55mm is wide angle on the 67 medium format, where it sees a 27.5 fov.

Jewelltrail- I really like that photo of the lake. Makes me want to take a nap and chill in one of those chairs with a frosty Mt Dew

Free Soul- excellent photo. If I had one shot like that I wouldn't need to take any more pictures

I've seen around 2 Super Tak 35 f/2s per year at camera shows, but I have yet to come across an SMC version. When prices approach $200 I would find it harder to justify a Takumar 35mm (with much better build quality) against the new DA L 35mm (with full automation).
To my way of thinking to even consider those two against each other is to largely miss the point of using Takumars to begin with. I consider full automation a necessary evil I am sometimes unable to avoid and most certainly not as an attractive selling point. I just don't see how anyone could draw a comparison between the two, and I have never seen an image from the DA L nor would I need to see one. But I am willing to concede I am an odd fellow when it comes to this sort of thing.

I have never been able to develop a warm feeling for a bayonet mount lens.
