Thanks Mike for your explanation. Further questions would be how do you trigger the flash? how do you decide on the power of the flash? and which flash do you use?
The flash is a 1980s National PE-3057 with a maximum GN of 30 (meters) and it is triggered with a Flash Waves radio trigger. Deciding the power of the flash isn't hard; it was outdoors at noontime (though in the shade) so I used maximum power. This flash only has a choice of 1/1, 1/4, and 1/16 for manual settings. I think the snoot and straws probably ate about two stops of light from the flash.

This may be heresy, but has anyone tried Takumars on a 4/3rds or a Micro 4/3rds camera?

I was looking at picking up a Panasonic G1 in the after Xmas sales for MF work.
ANy ideas/tips?

I've thought about doing the same down the road in a year or two. A 2nd body that could still use all of the legacy lenses and be more compact for daytrips where photography isn't the object. And kind of become my girlfriends camera. At least I've thought about one of the mirrorless setups.

I know that people are using the Kmount lenses on the mirrorless so the M42 to K adapter shouldn't be an issue. does anyone know the m4/3's or Sony to Kmount adapter length/weight? It looked to be substantial compared to the nice small primes. But part of that is because the camera is so small.
