Mike and Hangu,

Just a thought....I have noticed that there aren't many women posting to this site....I suspect that a few would still be posting if.....

Yes, our two little posts which appeared for a very short time on page four-hundred-n-sumthin in a thread visited by only a small portion of the visitors to the site are responsible for driving women away from Pentax Forums.

Tell me......Just how is it you are able to discern the gender of posters? Would you care to speculate on the ethnic mix while you're at it?

I agree that it is an amazing lens (200 3.5 Takumar) in certain circumstances. It's extraordinary for telephoto portraits and seems to create a little image magic. I can't quite put my finger on what makes it such an interesting and satisfying lens to shoot with.....

As I recall, I ran across an article many years ago written by a well known photo journalist who used this very lens to photograph Cassius Clay at the "thrilla in Manila" bout in the Philippines. In the article, he complained about the Super Takumar 200 F4 replacement being inferior to the old 3.5 Takumar. If anyone here comes across this article somewhere on the internet, please post the link for the forum members. It's a fun article to read.
I've never actually had the pleasure of meeting someone that still referred to Muhammad Ali as Cassius Clay till today and you're a PENTAX user to boot!!! You've got to be a very open minded, highly educated, successful as well as surrounded by tons of friends, living in the land of the free!!!

So please keep it coming mglowe, entertain us further with your acumen...

Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1.8/85 vs. Giant Cauliflower!

SMC Tak 1.8/85 wide open. One of my favorite lenses. Not my favorite veggie... looks a little too brain-like.
