Funny thing, it use to be open and is located right next to a playground but there's also a medium sized stream right there, guess the City took the safer road...

It's been a rough start to the year, but I've finally managed to not only take some pictures with my Taks, but upload them too. Here's the first of them:

Thanks Voytech. I do like Volvos. My girlfriend picked up her step-father's old S60 and it's a beast. It drinks like a beast too, but wow is it well-suited to roadtripping.

Here's what one needs after a long drive:

Wow, I get thirsty instantly!

Today it was dreary cold, and I had no real inspiration, but I'm posting the pictures anyway

I used the 55mm f/1.8 S-M-C Tak. Why? Because it is a superb lens, cheap, and can be used on the 5D from infinity to the MFD without any modification to either the lens or the camera.

Ok, I received today my first ever Tak lens ,a 55mm 1.8, and I have a question for you guys: why is there a manual / auto selection possible ? Isn't a manual only focus lens ?

Well, This lens predates autofocus by several decades It stands for Auto aperature stop down. And manual aperature. On the old film cameras with M42 screwmounts Later camera bodies had a mechanism to depress the little pin that sticks out the back of the lens mount. This enabled you to focus at wide open aperature and sometimes the camera would meter the light wide open. And when you released the shutter it would automatically stop the aperature down to the aperature selected on the lens.

On a present day dslr you need to set it on manual so that it stops down to the chosen aperature, As there is no mechanism on modern cameras to depress the auto pin.

Crackers

Some might view the Super Takumar 50/1.4 as divine. I think that is excusable. Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50/1.4. Spotmatic F, Fuji 400.
