I tried to take a few macro shots in my backyard. I used my Super Tak 50mm f1:1.4 and macro rings + wirelessly triggered Metz 58. I kind of like the results as it was a hard work getting the focus and the light just right.

Thanks Eric, I had to remove them as company policy apparently forbids it (who knew)
Store policy or forum policy? Seems a little uptight over nothing either way !

They really showed off the smoothness of the tak 50 !

Turboseize, Where do I find this redbird film? Is it c-41 process or something different? I wonder if it reaches a little bit into the IR spectrum? Anyway Very nice and different !
I bought mine from Spürsinn, but they can also be had directly from Maco.

Another try (same afternoon, same spotmatic, same super-multi-coated Tak 1:3,5/35:

Rollei redbird is processed in standard c-41. The film actually is a normal colour negative film loaded "the other way" - that is, with the emulsion to the back of the camera. The different colur layers of a film act as filters, and if you reverse them, you get funny colour deviations.
If you have a darkroom and can load film cartridges yourself, you could easily make your own redscale film. I can't (and am too lazy), so I buy them ready-to-use.

Another interesting film is the rollei crossbird - actually an old Agfa colour slide emulsion on a plastic carrier. The manufacturer labels the cartridges as c-41, so your standard lab will automatically cross-process them. Think I posted an example some months ago.

Oh damn! These pictures make me really sad that I can't use my Takumar with any other body than the Spotmatic! Will have to wait to develop the film sadly.

Nice shot... I have maybe a 8-9 of these trees on my property, large too. When I look at your photo, all I can think of is Tree Sap. I've got a deck under a couple of these Pine trees and it's been an ongoing battle with tree sap after I trimmed them. It got so bad I called in a tree guy and he said there isn't anything you can do about the sap, even said sealing them probably wouldn't help and he was right; tried the spray on tar sealer, but no joy. It's gotten to the point that I covered the deck with an awning...

Well, just a random rant about Pine Tree Sap, nice photo!

Not sure this has been discussed yet so here goes

To those who have longer tak's. What is your opinion of the best 200mm

I picked up the s-m-c tak 200 F4 for a good price just to compare with my preset tak 200F3.5. Although the s-m-c tak is shorter and smaller (after all the 1/2 stop does weigh something) , overall I think the old preset is a better lens, not just sharper but it manages CA much better.

What do the rest of you think?

Wish I could compare, but my SMC Tak 200 f4.0 was free, so I sure won't be complaining I'm hoping for a clear night, I might set the tripod up on the roof and try some moon/star shots.
