Been waiting to join with an M42 takumar. A friend gave me a 200 F4 after buying a new K-x and deciding that it was redundant with his new 55-300. I did try to talk him out of it. What a remarkably sharp little lens. My wife sets out orange halves filled with jelly which attracts Mockingbirds, Catbirds & Orioles. Ok, I'm convinced.

So, aren't you glad I'm stubborn?.....LOL
Bet you'd like to play with the 100 mm macro!

That 200 is indeed a sweet lens, but that 100 is my pride and joy.

They are beautiful, particularly the second one imho.

Here some from a roll of Provia 100 i got back today. I'm not happy about the dynamic range, I seem to have burned high lights, while the darker areas have been heavily affected by scanner moiré (not visible here) so I cannot even adjust levels.

Anyway:

Spotmatic F, Super Takumar 50:1.4 I type.

Both look front-focused to me by a few inches, but beautiful, nevertheless. Let's just say this was on purpose. ;-)

Here is one that I took this morning. I am looking into getting this into a print and framing it for my wife.

My Takumar 70-200mm
f/22, 1/250, ISO 400, 200mm

Thanks for the compliments! Its quite hard to nail the focus wide open all the time, but it seemed to work in favor of those shots.

Tell me about it! This shot was with the Super-Takumar 50/1.4 wide open. I often resort to focus bracketing to bump up the odds for there being at least one with perfect focus. Live view helps too, but I find it a bit cumbersome.

Sadly live view isn't always an option with kids. And ya id rather be 1/3 on keeper shots rather 0/1 and miss capturing the moment.

Great shot btw! I think it'd look awesome in b&w too.
