It is one of my favorite lenses too. Great shot unartist.
Thanks! It's getting to the point that I reach for this lens more often than a 50 or 55... I love the Focal Length and IQ is pretty darn good!

Nice, doesn't even look like a crop. That can not be done with any lens.

Thank you for your interest. I took this photo in Checiny, village near Kielce in Poland. This is XIII century castle.

Historical settings like that always appeal to me. I'm afraid in my neighborhood there isn't much to look at over 200 years old.

Honeywala booth at the local farmers' market at golden hour (the morning one). Super Tak 50/1.4.

And the local bicycle shop with its mascot out front. Super Tak 35/2; vignetting is real, not added. I'm not sure I've seen that before with this lens.

Both from the first test roll through a new-to-me Pentax SV. Efke KB 50 souped in Ilfosol 3; scanned on the Epson 4490. No PP other than resize and JPEGize.

I've had the Super Tak 300mm f/4 for awhile now but just haven't really had a chance to try it out.

It's a tricky "little" thing! Focusing was a challenge. Every shot required some pp to boost contrast and bring out the colours a little more and on most of the shots I needed to correct CA. It was a grey and cloudy day unfortunately so the lighting was very inspiring.

Here are two samples. Any tips on shooting with this lens?

dfujevec, I like your dog looking out of the corner of the image. I know many people talk down at faces looking out of the image, but it is an effect that I like because it seems to connect the image to the rest of the world. Reminds me of a paper by GS Fullerton, 1907, In what sense two persons perceived the same thing, The philosophical review, vol 16, no 5, pp 506-518. This was the journal which illustrated the disconnection of philosophers from the real world, in 1917/18 the editor wrote: "It has been rather hard to get submissions from German authors for the past few years." - as though that were a surprise!

@ anbak: IMO takumars are always worth using

I had nice day with my S.takumar 28/3.5. Here @ 3.5

It is sharp even wide open in close range, but for landscapes it don't shine...
