Pentax K20D
S-M-C Takumar 35/2

I can see it is the S-M-C Tak 35/2. Great lens in the hands of an expert.

Mike:These lenses are nothing more than tools to assist humans in expressing their creativity. We should not credit these tools any more than they deserve. I strongly hope that your remark was only a joke.
It was playing off of our dear friend Pepe's wife teasing him about taking better care of the Takumars than he does of the kids.

I have no creativity and I have nothing to express. I am not an artist and I don't approach picture taking as an art. The lenses can have the credit and welcome to it for all I care.

Certainly somebody had to crop those pictures; but it wasn't me.

What I can promise, however, is that if I ever encounter a really yellowed thoriated Takumar, I will perform the same test before and after the UV treatment. This could give us, Takumar lovers, a valuable lesson whether we should or should not irradiate our lenses with UV light to remove the yellow cast.
Please do execute this test and share the results with us as soon as you can.

At the beginning....

Nice to hear man’s best friend taken you out for a walk. (hill??? Did they tow you)
I know my wiener dog would not do that for me. I would have to carry her.
You live in a very scenic area! Great shots!
I actually did not like to have pets, but my wife convinced me that it is the only way to get some exercise. The are now addicted to go up the hill that they force me to do it. I was using the Super Tak 28/3.5 (like the UNartist say: Model 1 version 2), the one with the 58 mm filter. It is prone to flare and not as good as the SMC, or great as the Pentax K28/3.5, but it does the job. I had the Model1 Version1, the one also 58mm that has f22 aperture (versus f16), but I sold it. The flare was more evident and the f22 was useless. Good for collection purposes though.

Not to violate the sanctity of the Takumar Club... but to..

Not to violate the sanctity of the Tak Club, but for comparison purposes, here is a shot of the same hill as above with a Tamron SP Adaptall 17/3.5. Different day and time though. I will try later on to match the time of sunset time, the one above was taken.

Here is at the end of the day and the sun hitting the sunset:

Here is the same hill taken with the SMC Pentax 28mm f3.5

Wonderful, thank you for the Dachshund fix. Dumbo looks very much like our Nigel who sadly has passed as well. Elly looks very intense and clever.

Lovely set of images, and I love the Garden of the Gods. So much so, I got married there.
