"Shoot raw, use a photo editor to adjust the white balance at a cooler temperature. It has the same effect and is less harmful for the lens."

I do that but it is annoying. I have a hard time with white balance.
Just took this one from my backyard, on k20, takumar 200 4

I'm happy to announce two new additions to my Takumar family!

I'd like to welcome the Super Takumar 24mm f/3.5 and the Super Takumar 35mm f/3.5 both of whom arrived happy and healthy to their new home.

On a more serious note, does anyone have any experience with M42 Takumar zoom lenses? Are there any worth taking a look at? Any that I'd be advised to stay away from?

Leads to the "How is it supported" question. Great shot!

I have a question as well, my takumar 50 1.4 is very yellowed. I have had it by the window, sometimes closed, sometimes direct light for over 3 weeks. When using in low light and wide open it gives a terrible redish tinge. Outdoors with small or big apertures a terrible yellow tinge. Is hard to color correct the pictures (im just learning)

Shouldn't 3 weeks be enough? should I just put it in straight sun for another 3 weeks ? lol
Window glass pretty much blocks UV.. My 50 was also very yellow, I bought a UV compact fluroescent "party light" and put that up pretty close - 2-3 inches above - the rear element. I also put aluminium foil around the rest of the lens (the bulb sends off quite a bit of heat) including the front element .. set aperture wide open.. cleared it up great in about 5 days.

Cheers, Jarrod.
