Love those colors! I have never seen a cactus that looks like that and I live in the desert of the southwest.. Did you color grade it to do that? Love it!
The Southwest really is a wondrous place that I don't get out and shoot all too often even though I live here now. Being a native of northern California (SF Bay Area) it kinda feels weird shooting out here...I'm more of a dark redwood forest kinda guy I suppose.

The colors were just there... The light was fading so I had to bump up the ISO 400 and get some fairly long exposure times. (1 sec 2, 4, 8, 15) I tonemapped the image to get a big lump of information in the middle of the histogram...basically I was going for as much data as possible to mess around with in Photoshop. From there I made sure the colors that apparently were there (to my surprise because the actual scene was rather dull) pop a bit with out over doing it. I'll spare you the nitty gritty details, but some selective color, layer masking, and luminosity masking was involved in the process. Topaz Adjust and Nik Sharpener played a role as well.

Now that is some collection. Can't believe you took the time to write it all down. Also noticed you have relatively few 55/1.8s, and particularly no SMC's!
Up to this point all my lenses I have found in weird places like garage sales ext.. Most of everything i have found is Super-takumar, Now I am at the point where I am collecting from like ebay and what not, but it gets expensive. I am trying to re collect everything as SMC. it is going to take a while but its the journey that is the fun part. Ive stopped collecting lenses for now though because I am saving up for a new camera and iMac.. ugh..

Ok, I am freaking out a little.. I think I just found a diamond in the rough.. I met with someone to buy a Super-Multi-Coated takumar 28mm 3.5 for $40 bucks.. you know nothing really special. Well he was like why don't I throw in the camera as well. Well out comes a Pentax Original in perfect condition. So for 40 bucks I got a 28mm takumar and a working pentax original. Here is a pic of the pentax original I have. This is not the actual picture of the camera but the same model minus the lens. My question is, Is this a good deal? Is the camera worth anything? also what lens would it have come with original, or what case if any? I want to make it a complete original set but I have no idea what it would have came with back in the 50s.. Hope someone on here knows more then me on these cameras..

To give you some perspective, the Spotmatics came out in 1964 as the first behind the lens metering mass produce SLR. Before that they had the very nice lightmeter mounted on top and connected to the speed dial. That was the "S" series. The S series had one speed dial.
Before that wad the K series, where the slow speed dial is on the fron, as in your case. Why not look up the reviews of these cameras on this forum? People have gone to the trouble to put the information out there. These cameras are beautifully built. The first lenses were preset, then auto, then super. Read all about it in the reviews.

Hi, I just wrote a repair guide for the 55/1.8, do you have any idea how can I get it added to the lens repair database?

Free Lens by natestation2 - Super Takumar 55 f/1.8

Just picked up the 55 f/1.8 along with a Spotmatic (which subsequently was shipped off to Eric for restoration). Meanwhile, I kept the 55mm to play around with... took a picture of my daughter trying to snap her fingers. The free lens effect works really well in the right circumstances; love the "large format" look. Has anyone else experimented with a Tak similarly?

The only "free lens effect" I am aware of is the giddy feeling I got when I was gifted a Super Takumar 24/3.5. Does it have some other meaning as well?
