Very good. Those old lenses hold their own. Was the sky really that blue as shown in the third one?

The only sky I messed up with was the last one. Since it was shot in Av mode, the exposure is chosen by the camera, so it did.

Amazing news! (forgive me if everyone already knew this).

There is a Stanley Kubrick exhibit at the museum here in Los Angeles. They've got a collection of his movie lenses. I didn't know this, but he was in the habit of regularly having a technician adapt still lenses for use on motion picture cameras (I was aware of the NASA f0.7 lens). One of the lenses in the showcase was...an SMC Takumar 135 f2.5, with an adapted mount for motion pictures!

I thought that was pretty awesome, since I'm a cinematographer and most of my movie lenses are K mount lenses adapted for use on Canon-mount cameras.

Obviously, I'm going to have to get a Tak 135 f2.5 now.

Since I started collecting the m42 Taks I have noticed that a significant proportion of the movies I see evidence the same kinds of aesthetics as the Taks. This seems to hold for both the materials from US and also from Korea. The rest show the modern style sharpness and emphasis on depth of field. Probably also evidences use of smaller format images.

Excuse my extended absence. I was laid up in the hospital for a week and these days work is so busy I often don't get home but maybe once or twice a week.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, leg again, but the other one. It seems I developed lymphedema as a consequence of the injury last year.
