Beautiful and epic photographs. In many ways, certainly at low ISO, I truly believe that the old 6MP CCD sensor combined with a Takumar is the finest digital photography tool there's ever been.

Thanks Dartmoor Dave. This has been a lot of fun for me using this "old" *ist DS camera. I just got it a couple weeks ago, perfect shape, like new. I agree, there really is something to this 6MP CCD sensor. I don't have the tech knowledge to know why, but it really does have a certain look and feel to it, reminds me in a way of the richness and "warmth" of film compared to my other more modern CMOS high MP sensors which I could describe as more clinical or exacting. And I must say, while my Pentax F, M, A, and DA lenses all are excellent performers in many ways, my Takumars do something special, something less describable, something dimensional and "alive." Like you said, together, this CCD sensor and the Takumars are a great match.
