I used my S-M-C Taks on a D2X with a Kood adapter and got very good results.
Looks like I will have to save up for a kood adapter.

Very nice ... do you really have infinity? Just curious, J

Yes, there is infinity focus with the Kood adapter. They use a decent glass lens in their adapter. I tried another cheaper brand and it degraded the images badly.

OK ... thanks. Was wondering if Kood was any good here ... have tried some "el cheapo" FD and Minolta (to PK) adapters and always end up pulling out the crappy glass, thus ending up with an extension tube J

Hello, everyone.

If I may offer my story, after I bought my 150 f4 Takumar, I bought an actual Pentax M42 adapter, and it works perfectly; no problems at all.

A few members here told me their stories of having bought cheap adapters, and the tales of it getting stuck on either their cameras or lenses.

I'm glad I listened to them.

My adapter cost $50.00

What is a Kood adapter?

Mike

Kood makes adapters to mate different brands of lenses and camera bodies, e.g., Canon to Nikon, M42 to Canon or Nikon, etc.

Kood is a brand ... and it's to put a M42 on a Nikon mount and there's a lens element to have infinity focus. No need for a lens element for M42 to PK because it's the same registration distance (engineered on purpose) ... J

Nice work with the 105--I find moving targets are quite the challenge with the Takumars.

Here's a couple with the Super-Tak 35 3.5; down at the river, after the storm:
