Also posted in the 'post your photos' section.

SMC Takumar 28/3.5, iso100, 15s exposure, no clue about the aperture, but I don't think it was wide open.
One of the easiest lenses to handle I'd say!

Can also just leave this one here actually, from last December:

Really liked the glow in her hair!

Hi all

The other day I met a cinematographer interested in my Takumar collection. He grabbed my ST 24/3.5, SMC 35/2, Auto-Tak 35/2.3, ST 50/1.4 (eight element) and Tak 50/4 (1:1) and made a music video exclusively with these lenses (nothing else). A mix of cameras where used Sony 7s and Black Magic.

here is the link

He loved the finish so much he bought the ST 50/1.4 (eight element) and we are negotiating on the ST24/3.5. But, he could not extract the Auto-Tak 35/2.3 from me ..... he really wanted that lens!

Goes to show that these old lenses can be of immense use in todays digital age.

This make me think that if I can buy a Sony A7 (A7, A7II, A7R, A7RII,A7S, A7SII), the Takumars will be the bunch of lenses to go for. Cheap and the classic rendering and character are great!

The cinematographer recommended the A7s for low light situations and the Black Magic for well light conditions. With some luck, I hope to recommend back to the cinematographer a Pentax FF camera with awesome video capabilities ... someday soon........ I wish

New 200mm f4 Takumar appeared in the post today. Not sure how that happened, but I thought I'd accept the parcel. I decided to take it out for a quick spin before I take it apart to clean out the fungus. Not much to shoot wildlife-wise today, not sure why, so only managed some fairly local fauna!

Someone's domestic cat was particularly surprised to find me in the undergrowth and watched me in what I can only assume was bewilderment before slinking into the thickets.

My original photo was so poorly edited, I decided to start over. Yes I did like Vienna. The weather was perfect!

Great shot!
How does the Auto Tak deal with purple fringing? This would seem to be a very demanding subject. Did you correct for PF, or wasn't there any?
