Just a test shot from my "new" Super Takumar 300mm f4.0 that arrived yesterday. Of course the only suitable model I could find was the cat. She is always willing to pose.

Tak, by Tak

I'm just a baby member of this club, but today I received my 2nd Takumar, a Super 135/3.5, in the mail! I am absolutely rapt at the condition. Original caps and case, and a filter not mentioned in the auction, which looks like it has always been attached, for just over US$30. It really does look like it was almost never used.

It's dark and late, and I'm tired, so here are just a couple of shots - I used my 55/1.8 and new 135 to take photos of each other.

It's a lot easier to take a hand held shot, inside my house, at night, of the 135, with the 55 attached to the camera, than the other way around!

BTW my 100d seems to underexpose by 1-1.5 stops in AV mode with the 135... but I need to test in real light.

Great photos everyone!! I had a productive few last days with the taks on my new K20D...

Super tak 55 1.8 (rith reversed ap ring) anyone else have this? 1.8 is on the far left. This ens has a very dreamy quality wide open and I like that !!

Takumar Fisheye 17mm (y48(y2)) filter

Found this little car lot with junked cars not far from my house

Nice find with the junk car lot there.

I should have pics soon ... my sister-in-law will be induced on Friday ... twins on the way.
I was tempted to take the FA50 for ease of use ... but I might just take the 55mm f/1.8

Decisions, decisions.

You know damned well you'll hate yourself if you don't take the 55.

@bruloup, I was going to comment / appreciate your shots yesterday, but got caught looking for a pic to post myself I really like the old car shots, especially the Austin and the series of other car emblems... Really nicely done. And that yellow filter experiment turned out pretty well too.

Nice shots in the forest ... I have been meaning to get to the botanical gardens near me now with my lens kit (seeing as I have my new bag to handle all my Super Taks/Zenitar and accessories).

Mike ... I have been thinking about it over and over now ... and I keep coming back to the 55 to use. I have been thinking about it more and more ... and I find that with manual control I think the Taks will definitely be the best bet ... set it manually once and shoot from there (none of this auto metering crap screwing indoor images up).

Also tempted to take the 85 along too ... just to see if the that focal length will work ... kinda tempted to take the 35 too if i "need" wider ... although would probably need to bump up ISO though.

Will be shooting RAW for sure ... even though I am pretty comfortable shooting JPEG 99% of the time ... I think this opportunity needs RAW ... just to get that bit more out of the images.

bruloup, those pumpkins are beautiful!

A quick few with my "new" 135/3.5. The k100d underexposes with this lens, so I added 1.5EV, which seems to be somewhere near right, sometimes.

not what i'd call a cosy looking home, but around the corner from me

Snark, are you familiar with the aluminum foil "fix" for the K100D metering problem with M42 lenses? Basically you just tape a bit of foil over the electric contacts that surround the lens mount. You should be able to get the EV boost down quite a bit that way.

Looking at all the great photos from the last couple of pages, all I can do is say again what I've said so many times before.....Why in the hell did they ever stop making these things?

Sorry for the stupid question: How do the Takumars mount onto a K200d or K10d? Is an adaptor required?

Yes, you need this adapter to mount your screw mount lenses. The Pentax one is the best that I have used.
