time lapse

Thank you for your kind comment. The Takumars as we will all agree are such incredible lenses!
I like your idea of a time lapse video of the scene. Unfortunately, the vantage point is a public spot and not secure, and my full frame camera doesn't have video capability. It's still a great idea.

I apologize if this scene is boring anyone. I like it for its color and tremendous amount of detail. I use it to test lens resolution and take a picture of it several times a week just to capture the changes in the light. (My neighbors probably think I'm crazy.) The auto Tak 55 2.2 again (@f9). Dang but this is a sharp lens!

Your cityscape is a very useful reference, and I for one often look back through this thread and use your shots of that scene to get an idea of how different lenses compare. I bet we've all got a reference scene that we use like that. For me it's an old stone cross that I can easily take a snap of on a quick walk, just because it's the only sort of thing that I've got around here to use for that purpose. Must have photographed the darn thing hundreds of times.

Here's an xpost from the K10D club with the 20mm.

Thanks for the comment, Dave. I have a special fondness for Britain and appreciate how well you capture the Devon countryside. Ever since I attended Reading University in the early 70's, traveled around a bit, and spent holidays with my friend at his parents' home in Pwllheli, I've wanted to return and photograph the ruined castles of north Wales, Snowdonia, Bolton Abbey, and so on. There seems such a wealth of photographic opportunities there. The Lord willing, I may get back there yet.

That's funny. Did you get the collar with it? It seems most are being sold without. I've noticed a regular seller on eBay from Bangkok, but his prices are quite high, so he doesn't get any business from me.

I did not get the tripod collar. Not offered on my copy. The diaphragm is a bit sticky to move the first time in a day but after that it is easy to use. The last time I took it on an outing was a month ago, to LA.

I think I bought it at an auction - it was in the main group of lenses I bought.

When I get the collar I'll post whether it fits or not.

Preset Takumar 135mm f3.5

The light was a bit flat today, but I caught this scene while watching a drama on television. Preset Takumar 135 @ f3.5 and 1/15 sec handheld.

I have to ask first, do you work for the BBC or have any connection with the writers and producers of the series you mentioned?

No, so I won't be able to do anything about the fact that the latest season was pretty meh

I like the 3D effect on the first, in particular.

It's that time of the year again when the ground is burnt to encourage new growth. Do I need to even say which lens?
