I bet we've all got a reference scene that we use like that. For me it's an old stone cross that I can easily take a snap of on a quick walk, just because it's the only sort of thing that I've got around here to use for that purpose. Must have photographed the darn thing hundreds of times.

Thanks for the comment, Dave. I have a special fondness for Britain and appreciate how well you capture the Devon countryside. Ever since I attended Reading University in the early 70's, traveled around a bit, and spent holidays with my friend at his parents' home in Pwllheli, I've wanted to return and photograph the ruined castles of north Wales, Snowdonia, Bolton Abbey, and so on. There seems such a wealth of photographic opportunities there. The Lord willing, I may get back there yet.
